Purchase or DIY your own gel/jelly:

1. The easiest and fastest way to give your body 92 minerals and vitamins is to buy a ready-made gel, like our delicious, uniquely flavored Premium Sea Moss Jellies. Make sure you trust the seller and that there are no chemicals or preservatives added.

Alternatively, you can make your own gel at home. While the process takes a few days to complete, you can be certain of what is going into it, and leave out anything you don’t want. Purchase our Wildcrafted Jamaican Sun Dried Sea Moss and refer to the instructions here, for How to Make Your Own Sea Moss Jelly.

Take this flavored or unflavored jelly alone, by the tablespoon — two tablespoons a day is the recommended daily dose, ensuring to use a clean spoon every time you take some of the jar to avoid contamination. Store your gel in a glass container with an airtight lid in the fridge and it should last at least 14 days or up to three weeks.

Add to fruit smoothies, green juices, and herbal teas:

2. Sea moss can be blended with fruits and vegetables to make delicious and nutritious smoothies or juices.

Use as a face mask:

5. Sea moss is rich in plant based collagen, which is a protein that is essential for healthy skin. Consuming sea moss daily can help improve skin elasticity, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and promote a more youthful complexion.

While is it most beneficial to consume sea moss to receive its collagen properties, you can make a nourishing, spa quality, hydrating facial mask without any harsh chemicals by mixing together a teaspoon each of unflavored sea moss gel, raw honey or coconut oil, aloe vera, and turmeric powder. Apply to face and let sit for 15-20mins. Rinse clean and pat dry.

Use it in hair care:

6. Sea moss gel can be used as a natural conditioner for hair, providing it with moisture and nutrients that can help improve hair health and promote growth. Big retailers like Target and Walmart are now carrying hair products made with sea moss, like this Mielle Organics Sea Moss Conditioner.

If you’d prefer to make your own cocoction at home to save money and control what goes into your hair, simply mix a few tablespoons of unflavored sea moss jelly into your favorite shampoo or conditioner, apply to hair and let sit for 5 mins before rinsing clean.

For a deep, hydrating, hair repair treatment, mix two tablespoons unflavored sea moss jelly with three tablespoons of coconut, argan, or jojoba oils (can use more if necessary) and evenly apply to hair from root to ends. Cover hair with plastic cap and sit under dryer for 15-20mins, or leave on overnight. Rinse clean; shampoo and condition hair as usual.

Sea Moss Don’ts & Precautions

Now let’s review some of the precautions. Sea moss is considered generally safe for most people, even children and babies. As with everything you consume, educate yourself on it’s safety and how best to use it. Since sea moss is an unregulated market where low quality sea moss can be distributed and sold, consumers must use caution and discernment before purchasing.

Don’t Consume Raw, Dried Sea Moss

1. Sea moss can be difficult to digest when consumed in its dehydrated form, so it is important to wash, rehydrate, and blend into a gel before consuming, or purchase a ready-made gel like one of our delicious and uniquely flavored, Premium Sea Moss Jellies.

Don’t overconsume:

2. While sea moss is highly nutritious, it’s important to consume it in moderation. Too much sea moss can lead to digestive issues and potential health risks.

The recommended daily dose is two tablespoons. Some people can consume more without causing digestive issues when they’ve been taking it regularly over a period of time, and slowly increase their dosage.

As a more extreme practice, some people successfully take sea moss as part of a temporary fast, involving only consuming sea moss and spring or alkaline water for a number of days or weeks to detox and reset the body’s immune system.

We do not recommend this practice for the average consumer.

Always consult your healthcare provider and education yourself on the risks of fasting or other extreme detox practices.

Don’t rely solely on sea moss for nutrient intake:

3. While sea moss is a good source of many essential nutrients, it’s important to maintain a balanced and varied diet to ensure you’re getting all the nutrients your body needs.

Don’t use sea moss as a substitute for medication:

4. Sea moss should not be used as a replacement for medication or medical treatment. If you have a medical condition or are taking medication, consult your healthcare provider before consuming sea moss.

Last and certainly not least, avoid consuming low-quality or contaminated sea moss:

5. It’s important to purchase sea moss from a reputable source to ensure that it is high-quality and free from contaminants.

High quality sea moss like, our Premium grade, wildcrafted Jamaican Sea Moss harvested responsibly in pristine blue waters of Saint Thomas region of country, is the best for this reason.

Pool grown sea moss, which dominates the market, lacks the nutrition density of wildcrafted sea moss, since it does not grow naturally from rock and coral in the open ocean.

Pool grown, low quality sea moss can also contain a number of unknown contaminates, as it grows on large ropes in a controlled environment where pollution and other contaminates can be introduced.
